So what sets Oakley’s Sage Erickson apart from the average 18-year-old girl? Try looking at her surfing. Growing up on Oahu’s North Shore and Ventura, California, Sage found a raw talent for a sport she’s dedicated her life to. She’s taken the NSSA and Pro Junior circuits by storm, racking up an impressive list of results that point to a promising competitive career. “I’m trying to not get caught up in the distractions of the surf world,” says Erickson. “I mean, come on folks, have you seen the surfer boys these days?”

Tanning topless in Europe--Something I never would have done in some place I never would have been without surfing.

What's it mean to you to be riding for Oakley?
In all honesty it's an honor to be part of a company with such a prestigious line up of the highest technology. Plus, everyone that works at Oakley is rad and I'm just glad i get to hang out with them.

Favorite Oakley products and how they help you?
Frogskin shades. Every time I wear them, everyone wants them. I feel like a celebrity in the glasses department. It's just really cool to see a style that's 20 years old come back around and still be cool. I guess Oakley is just that amazing.

Who makes you laugh?
My Mom. I don't go a day without her making me cry of laughter. Her impersonation of the depression commercial gets me every time.

If I had a younger brother, one piece of life advice I would give him?
I tell my older brother I taught him everything he knows.

What's the most extravagant purchase you've ever made?
Last week I bought a $200 pair of tie die ripped/washed daisy duke shorts with removable suspenders. Pretty hip. I swear they'd make billboards in Australia.
