The name Bruce Irons is synonymous with innovation, progression and style in surfing. Crowds gather en masse to catch a glimpse of him whenever he enters the water and his peers have the utmost respect for his level of talent and fearlessness. Having secured legend status both with and without a contest jersey, these days, Bruce is known to appear unexpectedly on the heaviest of days and charge with the highest degree of reckless abandon (see: Teahupoo Code Red Swell), and then on another day will launch the biggest airs the sport has seen. Regularly appearing on the “favorite surfer” list of most of his fellow surfers and surf fans alike, Bruce has regularly taken the podium at the Surfer Poll ceremony. He’s a hot commodity, not only in the surf media, but to mainstream media, as he has graced covers of Outside, Men’s Health, and he’s even been featured in Rolling Stone.

Bruce grew up in Hanalei, Kauai alongside his brother, Andy, who was a three-time world champion who passed away tragically in 2010.
