    This past week, Adriano and some of the older generation shone the spotlight a bit brighter their way. On his way to a third-place finish at the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles in Southern California, Adriano took down the two most talented ‘young guys’ on Tour in Gabriel Medina and John John Florence.

    Sage Erickson is on a roll. After winning a 6-Star event in Oceanside, Calif. a month ago, the stunning 22-year-old from Ventura followed up that result with another win thousands of miles away on the coast of Spain over the weekend. In clean 3- to 4-foot waves at Playa de Pantin, Sage put her power turns to work, and as a result won the 6-Star Cabreiroa Pantin Classic Pro over Alizee Arnaud of France in dominating fashion, posting a score of 16.10 to Arnaud’s 9.83. When Sage made it back to the beach after the final, she put on her favorite teal Frogskins, and was chaired up the beach by her brother, Noah, and a friend – her arms raised in victory.

For the first time, the ASP World Junior Champions (man and woman) will be crowned in Bali.     Leaving behind the beachbreaks of Ballito, Sebastian “Seabass” Zietz, Eric Geiselman, Adriano de Souza and crew head south to score perfect pointbreak waves at “Supertubes” at Jeffrey’s Bay. In-between freesurfs and competing in the 2012 Billabong Pro Jeffrey’s Bay, the boys venture off on a true African experience – mingling with zebras and lions at the Seaview Lion Park. The interactions become a bit too close and personal, but everyone escapes with all of their fingers and toes intact.
