Snowmobiling

Levi started racing snowmobiles at the young age of twelve. He saved money for his first snowmobile by bagging groceries. Levi then entered his first race. Organizers almost didn’t allow him to ride because of his young age and small size. He placed second at his first race and began racing regularly after that. Levi had great success as a snocross racer, but in 2007 he decided to give freestyle a try. After learning several tricks, including the back flip (a snowmobile weighs 400+ lbs.), he entered his first freestyle competition and won. Levi had a breakout Winter X Games in early 2008.     It was just a big party for Daniel Bodin. O’s newly signed Freestyle Snowmobile Icon, also a new member of Oakley Star Levi LaVallee’s Factory Team, busted out a double grab backflip to grab the Snowmobile Best Trick Gold on Sunday. The victory was his second Gold at Winter X 15.

    Oakley athletes were on a rampage on the final day of Winter X Games 15, raking in another eight medals and bringing the final Oakley medal count to an impressive 20 Winter X Games medals. “This was a fantastic X Games for the Oakley Brand,” said Pat McIlvain, Oakley Sports Marketing VP. “Led by an incredible athlete team laying it on the line, our exposure and brand leadership was at all time high. With our sponsorship and commercials, we had the ability to communicate a stronger brand message to a much wider audience.”

    Two out of three ain’t bad. Oakley’s freestyle/snowcross chargers Heath Frisby and Cory Davis claimed Silver and Bronze, respectively, in the exhilarating Snowmobile Speed & Style event Friday…one short of an all out Oakley sweep. Heath was in the hunt for the Gold as he went head-to-head with eventual winner Joe Parsons, throwing down the sickest tricks of the evening. But Parsons’ speed proved to be the deciding factor in the judging, as his 93.59 edged out Heath’s 89.66 – landing Frisby the Silver.
