On a cold crisp night in North Lake Tahoe, CA the Oakley Rolling O Lab parked in front of the Northstar-at-Tahoe Village to support the first stop of the inaugural Oakley Snow Revolution Tour. Although we had hoped for an on-hill element to add to our first stop with Oakley’s top accounts and media contacts, the event was still a huge success with well over 300 VIP.

The set up was action packed with everyone being instructed to start at the Rolling O Lab and receive a personal tour of our R & D testing laboratory. The goal was to educate Oakley’s top NorCal accounts about the company’s superior High Definition Optics(®) (HDO) technology and how it applies to our snow program. While the line grew in size, the Rolling O Lab Crew members took turns giving tours and handing out beers to those waiting in line.

“This was by far the largest number of captivated consumers we have ever educated in such a short time,” stated Rolling O Lab Manager, Ryan Evert. “We have done almost a 100 events and we have never given tours to over 300 consumers in just three hours. I was stoked to see such positive activity take place at the Rolling O Lab. It is truly just the beginning I believe, I think each Snow Revolution Tour Stop will grow in size and demand.”

After receiving some free beer and a one of a kind tour of the Rolling O Lab with their peers in NorCal, people made their way to the Oakley Store in the Village to put together their own Oakley Goggle. For the first time ever Oakley has built a “Custom Goggle Bar” where participates of the Snow Revolution Tour can build their own goggle from an assortment of goggle straps, arms, frames and lenses. Now how cool is that, seriously?

Finally, after each VIP designed their own goggle they headed up to the private party above the ice rink; where Oakley had a magnificent sushi buffet, endless free booze and “Shotgun Wedding Quintet” to tear up the dance floor with Oakley Global Athletes, Shane McConkey, Daron Rahlves and Sammy Luebke.

Many thank you shout outs are deserved, but here goes the short list; Tom Faunker, Director of Domestic Sales, Aaron Quigley and Steve Genzler, Regional Sales Managers, Josh Hoyer, Tahoe / Mammoth Rep, the entire Rolling O Lab Crew, Diane Thibert and Brianne DeWeese, PR Director and Manager, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort and of course everyone that attended.
