Hight Takes All at Abominable
Who says you can’t have it all at 16. Oakley’s Elena Hight proved you could, as she drove away in her new Volvo as the overall champion of the 2006 Burton Abominable Snowjam. After taking 1st in the Superpipe and 2nd in the Quarterpipe, she had racked up enough points to take the lead. Chad Otterstrom, Nicolas Mueller and others were in contention for it; but Elena edged them out and went home with the keys to the car!
In Superpipe, Elena set the bar high. She was pulling back-to-back 5 into a frontside 7, followed by frontside 9s which sealed up her win and best trick. For the best trick win, she was sent home with a new Macbook Pro. If that wasn’t enough, the day before the young Olympian proved that blondes go bigger, as her goldie locks grabbed the highest women’s air of the day, blasting about 15 ft. out! That move landed her a second place win as well as a Ski Doo snowmobile for best trick. I guess you can have it all.
