The Sorsa Project On TV
Heikki Sorsa Stars in New FUEL TV Series The Sorsa Project. Heikki is one of Oakley’s top snowboard team riders, hailing from Finland. Heikki powered his way onto the snowboarding map in 2001 when he crushed Ingmar Backman’s world record for the largest air in Olso, Norway at the Arctic Challenge by charging 9.3 meters (29 feet) into the air. Falling just one foot short of Oakley’s set goal of 30 feet for the Gold Time Bomb watch, valued at $24,000. As a consolation prize Oakley gave the “Flying Fin” an all expense paid, week long trip anywhere in the world. Heikki chose Hawaii, which was an excellent choice.
Airing on FUEL TV, the only network dedicated to action sports, is the new snowboard series The Sorsa Project featuring superstar snowboarder Heikki Sorsa.
A part of FUEL TV’s fall “Stacked Sundays” line-up, The Sorsa Project follows the Finnish athlete – who is a world-record holder and former Olympian – for one year, taking an in-depth look at the action-packed career of this international snowboarding sensation. Heikki hooked up with a film agency out of London "Friday" to shoot this show, which follows Heikki around for a full season documenting his incredible adventures, from the Air & Style Contest in Munich, Germany to backcountry sessions in Utah to shredding in Dubai with Terje Haakonsen. Narrated by legendary pro snowboarder Jim Rippey, Sorsa competes in contests, poses for photo-shoots, and appears in films, as he is thrust into the limelight as a sports celebrity. Sound appealing? Watch to find out.
Tune in to FUEL TV to catch the all six episodes.
