Gretchen Bleiler Shoots For Gold at Winter Olympics
Gretchen Bleiler is officially on her way to Torino, Italy to compete for the women’s US Olympic halfpipe team along with teammates Elena Hight, Kelly Clark, and Hannah Teeter. After 5 grueling Grand Prix qualifiers, Gretchen swept 4 of the 5 events in first place, quickly securing her spot on the US team and preparing her for the biggest competition of her life. After a devastating knee injury early in the season in 2003, Gretchen has been dedicated to her recovery and physical training for this event. For the 2004/2005 season, Gretchen returned to the competitive atmosphere, winning every halfpipe competition she entered including the XGames, US Open, and Gravity Games. Now healthy, strong, and focused, expect to see a great appearance from Gretchen when official halfpipe competition begins live on NBC on February 4, 2006.
