BroDown ShowDown presented by Bear Mountain

The Bro Down Showdown is a contest for the up and coming am level rider who is on the cusp of moving to the next level in his or her snowboard career. This is not your local amateur association event. The event is open to amateur riders only, no professional riders. The format of the contest is Wide Open, the judges ride with the competitors, there are no heats, no all important runs. The idea is to simply go out ride your hardest, have some fun, and hopefully line your pockets with a little bit of cash.

Bear and its innovative park builders will be out there pushing up a very challenging course that has many options and inspires creativity. Allowing the riders to chose their own path, and express themselves through their riding. Overall style and creativity will get you to the top in this event.

Judging will be handled by Brent Futagaki. The panel of judges will consist of professional riders, filmers, and team managers. The judges are those who are in the trenches everyday, watching snowboarding progress, and are therefore the most qualified to judge these high level riders. After each jam session the judges will meet, come to a conclusion and develop a list of top riders, and upon conclusion decide the 4 riders who placed, and ultimately walk home with the loot.

This event is brought to you with the help of Bear Mountain, Active Ride Shop, DC. The event registration begins at 8 a.m. and is open to the first 100 competitors. Competition will begin at approximately 10:30, and will run for about 2 hours. Finals will begin at approximately 1:15, and will run for an hour. The entry fee to the event is $50 dollars. Riders under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian to sign their life away. Awards will be held at the base of the mountain prior to 3 p.m..
