  • Triple Podium! Snowboard Star Mark McMorris Lands Triple Cork for X Games Big Air Triumph, Oakley Sweep

    Torstein Horgmo’s first-ever Triple Cork made Winter X Games history last year. But as always, Oakley’s athletes weren’t done pushing the envelope. Coming from behind in the Big Air Finals on Friday, Oakley’s Young Canadian Star Mark McMorris threw down a massive Backside Triple Cork 1440 to claim glory in Aspen. Also stomping a clean Backside Triple Cork 1440 himself, Torstein’s overall score of 76 in the final jam session – and a perfect score of 50 – wasn’t quite enough to overtake Mark’s 80-point explosion.

With a 2011 season that blew the socks off snowboard fans worldwide – including an epic Winter X Games Big Air triumph (first-ever triple cork in-contest) – it’s no wonder that Oakley’s Norwegian shred machine has been the talk of the industry. And it’s definitely no surprise that a killer documentary is set to drop sometime this year.
