Though he’s still a rookie by most standards, Taylor Gold has made quite the impact in a short period of time. The 20-year-old, Steamboat Springs-native has had X Games invites, made major podiums and qualified for the Olympic team. And he’s got a last name that screams success.

Gold got started snowboarding as a child and seeing the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics he decided he wanted to be a competitive snowboarder. At 7, he set out on a path toward that goal. It definitely helped that he had a sister (Arielle) who was equally determined to achieve the same goal, so a healthy brother-sister rivalry served as some extra motivation.
