Norwegian Metal: Snowboard Star Stale Sandbech Claims Overall TTR World Snowboard Tour Title, Video Edits Drop
The Scandinavians already knew Stale Sandbech as the ‘heir apparent’ to Norwegian Snowboard Royalty. But few actually thought he’d claim the coveted TTR World Snowboard Tour Title so soon – and at such a young age. Including Stale, himself. “I wasn’t really going for it at the start of the season, but then I was leading and thought ‘wow’, maybe I can actually do this!” he said, rocking his Oakley eyewear, apparel and gear. “Now at the end, it was exciting ’cause I didn’t qualify for today – But it is really cool to be part of that legendary list of riders who won it before.” The easygoing ripper is known just as much for having as much fun as anyone – just riding on the tour. But despite his super friendly, typically Norwegian demeanor, Stale’s riding did the fierce talking for itself.
Amidst thousands of spectators and the world’s best snowboarders, Team Oakley rose to the occasion once again at the 2012 Burton US Open in Stratton, VT – the final event of the 2011/2012 TTR Would Tour. Topping the list of highlights from a weekend full of standout performances were Oakley riders Sebastien Toutant, Stale Sandbech and Shaun White.
