Stale Sandbech has seen and experienced things in his young life that most young snowboarders never will. To begin with, while growing up in Norway, he regularly got to ride with some of the sport’s most talented and stylish riders in Torstein Horgmo, Terje Håkonsen and Andreas Wiig. In his rookie season, at The Arctic Challenge, he was exposed to big transition riding at an age when most kids are still amping for autographs. And these experiences have paid dividends: Stale has progressed so much, so quickly that it’s impossible to to even gauge his potential. (Have you seen his triple underflip?!)
When he’s not traveling the globe, he’s usually home, continuing to push the performance envelope and piecing together sick and humorous video parts with his crew of friends, who are collectively known as RK1. It’s all in good fun, but it all benefits Stale and his aspirations of continuing to progress and hopefully land a spot on the Norwegian team at the 2014 Olympics in Russia.
