Looking Forward: Recovering Snowboard Star Kevin Pearce Talks Inspiration and Future on ESPN Action Sports


We said it before…we’ll say it again: Kevin Pearce is a lucky guy.

Following a horrific accident during an Olympic training run in Utah last December that threw him into a medically induced coma and inflicted traumatic brain injury, there were doubts about whether he’d ever be able to walk again.

But in a courageous display of resilience and hope – touched with a bit of a miracle and family love – Kevin is rehabilitating and inching his way back to riding a board. He’s set to attend the Winter X Games in January as a spectator. But there’s more…he’s already doing kickflips on his skateboard.
