Tracking Eero World Premiere In NYC

Oakley Global Snowboard pulled out all the stops to showcase our latest project for the 2009/2010 shred season, “Tracking Eero” the multimedia project. The location obviously had to be in the mecca of all media, so to really step it up for a world premiere in the US, Oakley selected New York City. And what better partner then the star of the show, Eero Ettala’s other major sponsor Red Bull.

Red Bull owns an incredible spot simply titled the “Red Bull Space” in a section of NYC called SoHo with a great layout for parties of all types. Wanting to utilize the Space to it’s fullest a life-size version of the Tracking Eero logo was constructed in the corner of the Space, along with posters, six signature goggle display cases, the new Eric Koston backpack and Frogskin line, a sick television / athlete VIP area, two bars and a DJ booth for the one and only JayCeeOh.

“Tracking Eero has been a great experience for Oakley & 1242 Productions from concept to finish,” said Oakley Global Snowboard Sports Marketing Manager Matty Swanson. “Working with Friday Productions and Oakley Apparel rider Eero Ettala was just what our snowboard program needed this year.”

Around 7:30pm there was a crowd of about 75 people waiting to get in and partake in the madness of the night. The doors opened at 8pm with the first 100 people receiving VIP tours of the Oakley Rolling O Lab parked on Watts Street in SoHo. From there they were whisked up the stairs and given a one-time only Tracking Eero “Splice” Goggle with personalized microbag and laser inscribed lens. Additionally each partygoer was given a signature “Tracking Eero” Oakley beanie.

By 9pm DJ Jayceeoh was tearing up the turntables and the house was packed with over 300 non-endemic and endemic media, snowboard fans, top local accounts, socialites and more. At 9:30pm Team Oakley Snowboard and Eero Ettala introduced the project to everyone and the documentary was met with many cheers and applause.

“The NYC TV Series Launch was a great event,” continued Matty Swanson. “The crowd was glued to the screens watching the best of moments of Eero and friends. Special thanks to everyone involved and we look forward to the series premiere December 27, 2009 on FUEL TV."

The party continued after the film debuted as JayCeeOh took over again on the tables and tore the roof off as some 300 people danced the night away. FUEL TV was on-site filming segments for “The Daily Habit” with Oakley’s 7-Time Winter X Games Gold Medalist Tanner Hall and “The Weekly Update” with Jackie Pickering. Look for these segments to air in the coming weeks on FUEL TV.
