New Zealand’s largest snowboarding event, the Burton New Zealand Open Snowboarding Championships, came to a close today after four intense days of competition. Part of the Burton Global Open Series and the Swatch Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour, the 7th Annual New Zealand Open, held at Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka, showcased some the world’s top snowboarders competing in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions for over NZ$50,000 in prize money.

Each year at this time Oakley pulls together from all our offices to welcome global media to showcase our up coming product lines, provide education, discuss our methods and do a little bit of partying. This year “Global Media Week” is taking place in the Lower East Side (LES) of Manhattan, NY.

Under blue skies, Oakley’s Chanelle Sladics (USA) took the title, earning 850 Swatch TTR ranking points and $15 000 USD.

Some of the most progressive women’s Slopestyle riding in years went down at the 2009 Canadian Open (the fourth of six stops on the TTR tour) and Oakley’s women were leading the charge.
