Janna Meyen takes Winter X games again

Surprises, dissappointment, and accomplishment all describe the women’s slopestyle competition at Winter X 2006. With top players like Laura Hadar , Leanne Pelosi, and Tara Dakides not securing spots in qualifiers, the finals displayed a new playing field with strong upcomers surprising the crowd with their skills. Last year’s silver medalist, Silvia Mittermuller shot for the safer run nailing the upper course and going for huge straight airs on the last booter.

Marie France Roy had her run dialed and looked like she was in contention for the podium but couldn’t cleanly land her trademark 720 truckdriver at the end of the course. Chanelle Sladics showed up with drive and style, nailing her first run but not getting the score she needed to place her top 3. After a scetchy first run, Janna Meyen did it to us again claiming gold again this year with a strong, styley and technical run which made put everyoe in awe. She proves again she is the best women’s park rider that exists. In the end, Janna Meyen set a womens slopstyle record, wearing Oakley CROWBAR snow goggles, taking home gold for the 4th consecutive year.
