Oakley Media Day: Press and O Stars Shred at Winter X Games 15
Oakley’s Media night has become synonymous with the kick-off of Winter X Games and this year the brand took the event to a whole new level.
The day began with an opportunity for select media to hit the slopes with Oakley skiers Tanner Hall and Seth Morrison. Journalists from “Outside,” “Transworld SNOWboarding,” “Aspen Magazine,” The Sports Network and Aspen TV gathered on Assay Hill outside the Viceroy to select goggles from the Oakley goggle bar. Tanner, Seth and Oakley snowboarder Jake Blauvelt spoke about their favorite lens to help media make their selections. With everyone outfitted in their new goggles the group took off and made the most of the blue bird afternoon in Snowmass.
The shred session was broken up with a special lunch on the slopes of Aspen Snowmass at Lynn Britt, a beautiful log cabin. With seating outside the cabin athletes and media took in the warming sunrays of Snowmass over a beverage of their choice. Once inside for lunch everyone sat down family style to enjoy a truly mouth watering and belly warming meal.
After some fun laps in the bowls of Aspen Snowmass the media and athletes enjoyed an après poolside get together at the Viceroy Snowmass Resort where media were able to unwind, compare goggles and chat with other Oakley snow team athletes. “Shredding with Morrison was a dream come true,” said Aaron Berne of “Aspen Magazine,” who shared his local knowledge of the mountain to score some epic runs for the group.
All in all, it was a great opportunity for media to interact with the athletes and product in their natural element, which set the tone for the remainder of the day.
