On skis almost before he could walk, Swiss prodigy Kai Mahler arrived into the professional ranks with heaps of hype in part to a slew of solid results at contests around Europe. Come Winter X Games 2012, he had his first opportunity to ride with the biggest names in Big Air and the then-kid (17 at the time) rode like a veteran. He stuck a switch double misty 1440 (his signature trick) and took home the Silver Medal. Kai had arrived.

Many consider Mahler a top contender to take home a medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where he’ll be competing in Slopestyle.
