Shaking the shadow of his older brother, Jossi, Byron Wells broke out on the contest scene in 2009. One of four uber-talented brothers, Byron was the New Zealand National Champion in his age group for ski racing from 2000-2006.

Last season, at European X Games, Wells placed fifth and beat his brother for the first time. Other highlights include filming for Teton Gravity Research.

Away from the snow, Wells plays golf and tennis and is leaning how to play the guitar.

His biggest idols in skiing are Tanner Hall and Sammy Carlson.

    Doing something you love and living life to the fullest.

    People walking slow in front of me and/or stopping.
