Spring Ski Shoot With JP Auclair
I was on my way back from an Alaskan trip with Seth when I called Anthony to see if he wanted to meet at Sushi Village. I had a long lay over in Vancouver, on my way back to Québec, so figured we could meet up for dinner in Whistler.
I called. Anthony answered the phone, but wasn’t in Whistler. He had made a last second decision to go down to California to join a Poor Boyz film shoot along with Sammy Carlson, Jacob Wester, Andreas Hatveit, TJ Schiller, Josh Bibby, John Symms, the Olenick Bros., Matt Sterpenz, Zach Davidson, Andy Mahre, Chris Benchetler and Candide Thovex.
The Alaska trip had been strenuous and I was ready for some down time at home, but I hadn’t skied the park in a while so I decided to go meet up with them in Tahoe. It felt strange to go straight from skiing the big mountains of Alaska with Seth Morrison to skiing the park with a bunch of teenagers.
For the first couple days, my mind was still wandering in the Haines Back country but the original features that the North Star and Sierra at Tahoe staff built for us and the amazing group of skiers that were down there made it a pretty fun detour from Juneau to Québec. (I’m actually still not on my way home since I met up with Volume’s Steve Rozendaal while I was down there and he convinced me to drive up to Salt Lake with him to go hit some spring back country booters).
