A mixture of samurai, ninja and skier, Callum Pettit quietly lays down some of the most progressive and impressive lines in the backcountry. The Canadian has produced banger film segments with Tanner Hall in “Believe,” this year’s TGR film “Light the Wick” and more. He’s tomahawked into a crevasse for sure.
Callum Pettit grew up skiing on Whistler/Blackcomb Mountain, which has lots of terrain to explore. But it wasn’t good enough for Pettit. He wanted to see more new mountain and fewer people, so he did what any Whistlerite did and bought a snowmobile.
The last few years have been filled with film trips and traveling. This season, Callum will head to the interior for the early season and shoot with The Rocky Mountain Sherepa’s, for their two year project All.I.Can – dropping next fall.
His dream trip is to go to Valdez, Alaska with friend and roommate Kye Peterson and ski some classic lines.
Callum hates line-ups and couldn’t live without friends, music and a vehicle. He spends the off-season surfing, skateboarding and mountain biking.
His advice for heading into the backcountry? Know your avalanche rescue skills and only go with people who you know and trust. Plus, be smart and take your time.
