    Shane McConkey was remembered and celebrated Sunday (March 27) in a day of extreme snowlerblading, outrageous costumes and general hilarity that only his home mountain of Squaw Valley could deliver.

    One of the most influential skiers in history, Shane McConkey, changed the world of free skiing forever. Whether it was doing the impossible on skis, making friends laugh or doing handstands for his daughter, Shane brightened the world of those around him. Shane died on March 26, 2009, while filming in the Dolomite Mountains of Italy.
