Oakley’s Olympic Gold Medalist mashed her way to two solid wins at the Val D’Isere World Cup event in France – grabbing her first downhill win of the season then emerging victorious at the first super combined race of the year. The victories catapulted her to the top of the overall World Cup standings – setting off even more immense momentum.

    Simon Dumont cased it on his final hit of his first run at the Winter Dew Tour Ski Superpipe Finals in Breckenridge. But it didn’t matter. His sick 94.50 second run had him standing at the top of the podium with the victory.

    Lindsey Vonn is kickin’ arse. She’s not only the most successful female American skier in history. She’s also the first skier, male or female, to ever be named an Associated Press Athlete of the Year. Lindsey accepted the honors this past weekend, taking 77 of 175 votes submitted by news organizations that make up the AP’s membership, more than double what any other challenging female athlete totaled in the tally announced Saturday.

    Oakley Olympic Gold Medalist Ashleigh McIvor is starting the season doing one thing. Continuing to strike fear in the hearts of her rivals. Exhibit A: Her strong performance at the World Cup Ski Cross Race in San Candido, Italy this past weekend. She powered to a second-place finish in just the second race of the 2010-11 season.

The FIS World Cup event is no stranger to Lindsey, who’s racked up 14 podium finishes and eight wins at the contest over the past six years.
