Bio
Ryan was born in San Clemente, CA and still calls the Southern California beach city home. It was at the tender age of eighteen months that he first stepped foot on a skateboard. Soon after entering contests at a young age, he started winning them. By age thirteen, Ryan was pro for World Industries and had taken home an X-Games gold medal. He has since dominated the contest circuit and continues to be one of the outstanding forces to reckon with.
Ryan’s mainstream exposure reached new heights in 2007, when MTV started airing “The Life of Ryan”, a reality show that covered the daily trials and tribulations of a teenage skateboard phenomenon. Even with the added television and teeny-bopper magazine coverage, Ryan is still arguably the most feared skateboarder on the competition circuit. If you haven’t already done so, check out the Ryan Sheckler Signature Series Sideways sunglasses. They combine a polished black exterior with plaid interior, a work of art inspired by Ryan.
Don’t sell him short, though. Ryan’s not just a contest queen that can only skate in an arena. Just watch any of his recent video parts and you’ll soon realize that his roots lie in the street spots that made him the skateboarder he is today. Having accomplished so much at a young age, it’ll be interesting to see what’s what he’s still got under his sleeve.
