Sammy Carlson Takes Slopestyle Bronze

Rounding out the podium at the Winter X Games 14 men’s ski Slopestyle competition was Hood River, OR local Sammy Carlson.

Carlson had a very strong showing, particularly on the rail features.

Sammy’s run: 270 on, 450 on 270 off the disaster box, handplant 360 over the hitching post, bio/rodeo 450 onto the rainbow rail to 450 out [ed. note: crazy], switch rightside 1080, switch left 1260, and ending with a double cork 1080 poke. Sammy’s run was technical, but a little less smooth that Håtveit’s, hence the 3rd. But his bio 450 on the rainbow rail was probably the most dangerous and one of the more ridiculous stunts pulled today.
