Vincenzo Nibali is an Italian born road cyclist known as “The Shark.” Riding for the Kazakhstani ProTeam Astana, Nibali is known as one of the most fierce stage race riders in recent years. While he is very strong in stage races, the Italian has also proven himself at the highest level, winning all three of the Grand Tours (2010 Vuelta a Espana, 2013 Giro d’Italia, 2014 Tour de France). Nibali’s most impressive and prized accomplishment came in 2013 when he won the Giro d’Italia in front of his home fans.     George Hincapie described the scene at the Amgen Tour of California prologue in Sacramento Saturday, saying only Tour de France crowds could compare. And those crowds were treated to a Tour de France-caliber show, with Oakley’s Fabian Cancellara (Saxo Bank) blazing the downtown 3.9km course with a winning time of 4:32.
