Vincenzo Nibali is an Italian born road cyclist known as “The Shark.” Riding for the Kazakhstani ProTeam Astana, Nibali is known as one of the most fierce stage race riders in recent years. While he is very strong in stage races, the Italian has also proven himself at the highest level, winning all three of the Grand Tours (2010 Vuelta a Espana, 2013 Giro d’Italia, 2014 Tour de France). Nibali’s most impressive and prized accomplishment came in 2013 when he won the Giro d’Italia in front of his home fans.     Road cycling is finally back in full swing and ready for another promising season. Putting all distractions behind them, the peloton strapped in and hit the roads all around the world. The Oakley team has experienced an overwhelming amount of success already in the opening stages of the season. Racking up GC wins in Australia and Qatar, along with a growing number of stage wins and other accolades in Argentina, it’s looking like another favorable season for Oakley road cyclists.

    Among a multitude of nicknames, Marianne Voss has been dubbed the Queen of Cycling. She proved why this name is fitting, once more, at the 2013 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. The 25-year-old secured her firth successive championship and the sixth of her career. Her winning time of 43 minutes was 1:34 minutes faster than runner up Kate Compton (USA).

    It’s been an eventful 2012 for Mark Cavendish to say the least. The Manx Missile, secured another three Tour de France stage victories this year, including his 23rd career stage win, making him the most accomplished sprinter in the Tour’s history, in terms of victories by a sprinter. While the focus of the 2012 Tour seemed to be on teammate, Bradley Wiggins, Cavendish took it mostly upon himself to rally for his stage victories, including his fourth consecutive final-stage win on the Champs Elysees. Cavendish became a father this year with the birth of his baby girl, Delilah Grace. And most recently, he announced he’d be leaving TeamSky to ride for Omega Pharma-Quick Step in 2013, making them a powerhouse squad, consisting of current time-trial World Champion and 2012 Olympic silver medalist, Tony Martin along with Belgian superstar Tom Boonen, to name a few.
