Bio

Matthew Goss’ cycling career began on the track, most notably with a gold medal in the 2006 World Championships. But even at the peak of his Team Pursuit success, Goss began a parallel career on the road, finally turning pro in road in 2007.

He achieved some success in his early road career, but his riding became seriously noteworthy in 2010, when he signed with HTC-Columbia. He won the ninth stage of the Tour of Italy in mid-May of that year, although he withdrew from the race a week later due to illness. Later that summer, Goss won the GP Ouest-France with a spirited sprint finish and the Philadelphia International Championship.

Early in 2011, Goss earned the most significant victory of his career, claiming victory in the Milan-San Remo Classic.
