Sir Bradley Wiggins’ 2014 AMGEN Tour of California campaign was extremely reminiscent of his 2012 Tour de France victory. Back in winning form, the Tour de France and Olympic Champion took to the California landscape with one thing on his mind: adding to his already impressive resume with an AMGEN Tour of California title, one of the few cycling feats he had not yet achieved. From his domination of the individual time trial during stage two, to the first climbing stage on the third day of racing, Wiggins and his Team Sky teammates put him into position to bring home California’s version of the yellow jersey. He took the top prize by an overall margin of 30 seconds over Garmin-Sharp’s Rohan Dennis.

The 2013 Giro d’italia is in the books and to say it was an epic race is an understatement. Some of the best riders in the world battled some less than favorable conditions throughout the 21 stages of the race, including strong winds, blistering rain and even downpours of snow on multiple occasions. Oakley riders persevered however; securing some of the top spots in one of road cycling’s biggest races of the year. Italy’s Vincenzo Nibali, of Astana, donned the pink jersey for winner of the general classification category, finishing the race in an overall time of 84:53:28". Additionally, Britain and Omega Pharma-Quick Step’s legendary sprinter, Mark Cavendish earned the red jersey for overall points leader. Both sported their Oakley RadarLock sport performance glasses on the podium with a fitting choice of Positive Red Iridium lenses to go with their respective final jerseys. Other Oakley riders had a successful Giro, including the 2011 Tour de France champion, Cadel Evans,...

“If there’s a book written about the history of great riders in cycling, I want to be in it. I want to be in that list of great riders. That’s what I want.” That was what The Manx Missile, Mark Cavendish told us last December when he visited Oakley World Headquarters in Foothill Ranch, California. As if he needed anymore help, Cavendish further cemented his name in that very book of all-time great riders today. Already one of the greatest sprinters to ever live, Cavendish won Stage 12 of the 2013 Giro d’italia, his third of the race and his astonishing 100th of his career. Crediting his team with the reason he secured the victory today, Cavendish completed the rainy 134km stage from Longarone to Treviso in a time of 3:01:47 to collect his milestone victory.

"I don't consider myself lucky to be a professional. I'm a pro because I worked for it. I'm not a pro because I was lucky, but I'm lucky to be where I am." "It's an unbelievable sense of achievement when you cross the line first, knowing all the hard work your team and yourself have put into the race, and everything leading up to it, has all been worthwhile. " "I want to keep winning - big, small, long, short, road, track, hard, easy - it doesn't matter, as long as the team or I are first across the finish line. I just love racing my bike! "
