Skull Cup Champions Dinner
After an insane day of golf to decide our first Skull Cup champion players from both teams headed to the TPC Scottsdale to take in the first round of play at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Oakley once again is one the biggest sponsors of the Phoenix Open with the Greenskeeper area, Rolling O Lab in the main tent and official eyewear sponsor of the infamous 16th hole. The Skull Cup players were stoked to enjoy the Oakley suite at the 16th hole and take in all the action that makes this a truly one of kind spectator arena.
Once we were back from TPC Scottsdale it was time for the Champions Dinner at the Talking Stick Resort where great food and drink made available to the players, top accounts, Oakley Sales and Marketing staff. Everyone mingled and enjoyed the VIP dinner, which gave way to our main host and funny man, Geeter of AVP fame.
Geeter introduced the founders of the Oakley Pro/Am series – Chris Long, Ryan Evert and Al Janc, then brought up the West and East Coast Teams. Heckling was the main ingredient for the evening as Geeter served it up strong to each player as they were introduced to the cheering crowd.
Jaysen from the East and Matt from the West were awarded the MVP honors and the East Coast was presented with the Champions belt. To top things off Geeter wanted to see what type of champions he was working with and challenged the two teams with one final challenge – FLIP CUP!
And if there was any doubt about the East Coast’s dominance it was solidified with a crushing win in Flip Cup.
Big congrats to everyone involved in the first ever Oakley Skull Cup Tournament.
