Belgian Frederik Van Lierde and American Mary Beth Ellis took full advantage of all Ironman France has to offer. The male and female winners in Nice each set course records, respectively, with Van Lierde smashing his own course record, which he set last year.
British mountain bike downhill racing siblings Gee and Rachel Atherton are no strangers to shared success. The brother-sister combo have been sweeping up podiums together for a long time now. They were back to their old habits this past weekend at the Val di Sole Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill races in Italy. Both secured double titles to follow up on their previous performances at Fort William.
The 2013 Giro d’italia is in the books and to say it was an epic race is an understatement. Some of the best riders in the world battled some less than favorable conditions throughout the 21 stages of the race, including strong winds, blistering rain and even downpours of snow on multiple occasions. Oakley riders persevered however; securing some of the top spots in one of road cycling’s biggest races of the year.
