Five total. Three straight. Flat out awesomeness from Oakley’s phenomenal Bob and Mike Bryan, who tallied their 10th major title with a huge victory over Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes (6-3, 6-4) this past weekend at the Australian Open. The dynamic O duo, currently the World No. 1, were throwing down in their sixth Aussie Open final in seven years after finishing as runners up in 2004-2005. But despite their frequent appearances and amazing success, they’re as charged up as ever. “It never gets old,” said Bob, rockin’ his Oakley watch. “Especially to play those two guys, the ‘Indian Express’, who we have tons of respect for. We were jacked up for this match. These two guys are legends. It was an extra special feeling out there on the court playing two guys that dominated the game 10 years ago.”
A ‘Super G’ indeed she is. Oakley Ski Star and Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsey Vonn mashed her way to victory at the Super G in Cortina, Italy today. O’s speedster came off the line in the 20th position, but led at every split and crossed the finish line with a time of one minute, 11.66 seconds to beat second-place finisher Anja Paerson of Sweden by 0.43 seconds. The triumph tallied her 38th win, fifth victory of the season and second in a Super G. Lindsey also climbed 71 points closer to overall World Cup leader Maria Riesch of Germany (finished ninth), who currently owns a 1052 to 927 advantage.
The shear madness of the Waste Management Phoenix Open is upon us. Average attendance has been in the 200,000 plus range each Saturday of this PGA Tournament, making it an ideal place for Oakley to activate around our growing golf line.
