CA Dreaming: O Cyclist Chris Horner Triumphs at Amgen Tour of California, Oakley Cyclists Tally Five Strong Stage Victories
Chris Horner just scored the biggest victory of his career. Oakley’s cyclist bagged the overall victory at the Amgen Tour of California along the Golden State’s coast last week – finishing with an overall time of 23 hours 46 minutes 41 seconds. Fellow Oakley Rider Matthew Goss canned the Stage 8 victory after a sprint finish in the rolling countryside west of Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 Oakley hosted over thirty media ranging from local and regional outlets to GQ and Men’s Health to launch the latest performance eyewear – “Fast Jacket”. Reigning French Open women’s finalist, Sam Stosur, men’s number 32 in the world Janko Tipsarevic, the winningest doubles team in men’s history the Bryan Brothers and several other Oakley players helped host the media at the Tennis Club Boulogne Billancourt.
In typical Janko Tipsarevic style, the young Serbian took a few games to wake up and realize he was playing in the first round of a major. But once he did it was on with a furious backhand, solid net play and close to a dozen aces to storm past Argentina’s Brian Dabul in straight sets.
