2010 French Open Women’s Singles Finalist, Sam Stosur returned to centre court once again to kick-off the tournament as match number one of the second grand slam in 2011. Under near perfect conditions Stosur entered Philippe Chatrier on a mission and accomplished it in just over an hour, by spanking Iveta Benesova 6-2, 6-3.
She may have not conquered her first final of the year, but Sam Stosur is definitely in form. Oakley’s World Top 10 ranked Aussie bashed through rival after rival at the WTA Rome International Masters in Italy, eventually falling to Maria Sharapova in the Finals after suffering through some stomach issues the night before the headline match. But make no mistake, up to that point, Sammy displayed just why she’s one of the best on the Planet.
