But Oakley’s Chilean speedster stunned the Triathlon world with an inspiring charge with 500 meters remaining, powering past previous leader Emma Jackson, Andrea Hewitt and Helen Jenkins all the way to a thrilling finish for her first-ever Elite ITU World Title at the Dextro Energy Triathlon Series round in Lausanne Crossing the line in 58 minutes, 35 seconds, Barbara refused to let up in the final stretch, fighting off attacks by Jackson. When the run dropped into action, Jenkins set the pace for the leading group, with Hewitt, Jackson, Barbara and Ashleigh Gentle rounding out the leaders pack.

The son of a PGA Pro and the nephew of Pat Bradley – an LPGA World Golf Hall of Fame inductee – the young standout officially hit the map on the heels of a recent win at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. And considering the grand victory on his first try in Georgia, it’s safe to say that golf stardom definitely runs in his blood.

Oakley’s two-time defending Olympic Champion Kerri Walsh and her long-time partner Misty May-Treanor smashed their way to their third gold of the season at the FIVB Grand Slam in Klaganfurt, Austria – topping the tough Chinese duo of Xue Chen and Zhang Xi in straight sets (21-14, 26-24). The triumph marks the two bombers’ 38th World Tour career victory and their fifth title in the Klagenfurt Tournament.
