    Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal is known for his speed on the slopes. But it’s his speed climbing up virtually every leaderboard FIS Alpine Skiing has to offer that is catching the attention of everyone in the sport. The three-time Olympic medalist posted back-to-back wins this month in Lake Louise and Beaver Creek. Today he increased his early season tally to three wins, taking the Super-G crown in Val Gardena, Italy for the third time in his career. As a result, he became the first ever FIS Alpine Ski racer to win three World Cup races on the Saslong course.

After taking the early tournament lead at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge, Oakley golfer, Zach Johnson battled with the tournament host, Tiger Woods the entire weekend. While Woods looked to have the edge throughout the weekend, Johnson never let the lead get out of sight. In a comeback for the ages, Johnson slowly clawed his way back to top Woods in a sudden-death-playoff at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. It was his road to the playoff that was utterly remarkable.

    Aksel Lund Svindal made himself right at home in Canada this weekend, something he’s become accustom to doing. The Norwegian alpine ski racing super star took the super-G title at Lake Louise for the third consecutive year. His finishing time of 1 minute, 28.53 seconds was enough to hold off Austrians Matthias Mayer and Georg Streitberger for first place by a slim margin.

    While many of Ironman’s big name athletes wind it down for the year, Great Britain’s Rachel Joyce is still hard at work. Fresh off her impressive second place finish at the Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona in October, Joyce claimed victory at Ironman Cozumel this past weekend. Joyce completed the shortened tropical course in a time of 8:52:28 for the win.
