Lindsey Vonn is used to outside pressure. But last week at her hometown in Beaver Creek, the pressure came from within. Fresh off a resounding sweep at Lake Louise, she sought to extend her already commanding lead in the overall World Cup standings on home turf. And she did resoundingly – by claiming her fourth straight series race with a Super-G victory.

Cyclocross: Brian Lopes Claims Second Consecutive Southern California-Nevada District Title – Eite Men’s Class
Make it two years in a row. After Thanksgiving dinners and holiday cheer, Oakley’s long-time Mountain Bike Star Brian Lopes threw on some skinny tires and took it hard to the competition at the “Turkey Trot” – Southern California-Nevada District Cyclocross Championships in Verdugo Park. Busting out a total time of 58:19:8 – Brian emerged with the Men’s Elite Class victory, blazing the 2.7 km course and leaving the more than 500 overall racers in his dust. Image: Corey Keiser

Lake Louise: Lindsey Vonn Sweeps World Cup Downhill & Super-G, Extends Commanding Series Lead
Last year’s World Cup battle is no more. This year, Lindsey Vonn’s dominance is unquestioned. Extending an already commanding lead in the overall standings, Lindsey swept her way through Lake Louise this past weekend, claiming downhill races on Friday and Saturday before taking the Super-G on Sunday with a time of 1:20.21. The latter victory was her 11th at Lake Louise.
