10,000 Horsepower: #NitroPilots Unleash Explosive Video as NHRA Season Kicks Off


So this is what 10,000 horsepower feels like.

As the NHRA season blasted into gear last week, Don Schumacher Racing unleashed its official team video for the 2014 season. And with Oakley’s Motorsports and video production teams behind the madness, the explosive production began capturing the imaginations of motorsports fans far and wide.

Over two days at preseason testing last month in South Florida, Oakley’s crew of mad scientists/videographers employed an unprecedented display of technologies to capture team DSR and its personalities in action using famed Red Digital cameras. Red Digital is the video camera of choice for major Hollywood films.

“Oakley’s crazy designers and engineers are always innovating, imagining and detonating their competition, whether it’s their patented eyewear technologies, racing gear technologies, apparel or anything else,” said Ron Capps, pilot of the NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car for DSR. “It’s just really awe-inspiring to see something so cutting edge with the cameras they were using at the test session. What they did with the different camera angles were things that we’ve all sat around and dreamed about being able to get shots of.”
