Carmichael Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win of the Season at Red Bud

Oakley’s Ricky Carmichael picked up his fourth consecutive win of the season, before a crowd of 28,147 at the Red Bud National.

Carmichael turned in a near-perfect ride and stalled the return of Kawasaki’s James Stewart en route to the overall win. This was Carmichael’s record 137th win of his illustrious career and pace-setting eighth at Red Bud. The rain storms throughout the day kept the temperatures low but humid and the track in great condition. Carmichael used two great starts in each of the motos to build early leads and never looked back from there. Oakley’s James Stewart wearing his Signature gold CROWBAR™ MX goggle, was never able to mount a charge and settled for a solid 2-2 on the day, good for second overall.

Carmichael pushed his lead in the AMA Motocross Championship to 30 points over Reed, 242 to 212. Honda’s Kevin Windham climbed two positions into third, in the overall point’s standings with 153.
