Enduring soft, moist track conditions at High Point Raceway in Pennsylvania, James “Bubba” Stewart still managed a dominant performance, sweeping both motos for his first overall win of the 2014 campaign on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series.

“I was excited about coming this weekend because we made some good improvements on the bike,” Stewart said. “It’s been a while since we’ve had this speed and pace in reserve and I felt comfortable doing it. This track is one of the ones that I’ve had to overcome, but it was nice to get a win. It’s actually the first time I’ve gone 1-1 in a while, so we’ll go back and keep on working and go from here.”

The win is James’ first in an outdoor national since Spring Creek 2013, and could mark a significant shift in momentum in the 450cc title race. Ken Roczen still holds a 16-point lead over Ryan Dungey, while James moved only six points shy of the second spot.

The series next resumes at Muddy Creek in Tennessee.
