Ryan Villopoto is running away with just about everything. Big time.

Fresh on the heels of claiming a history-making third straight Supercross Title, Oakley’s MX phenom charged into the Outdoors at Hangtown (Sacramento) as hungry a title-chasing privateer rider. Smoking fellow Oakley star, Ryan Dungey, by a massive 21.5 seconds in Moto 1 and 20.2 seconds in the second Moto – the Seattle native displayed his program’s professionalism and solid operations en route to dominance before a record crowd of 24,500 fans.

As always, it was almost businesslike as RV swept the day’s races…just as Oakley’s motocross team swept the podium through both Motos.

But despite owning the field, Ryan isn’t about to rest on his laurels.

“We’re in a good place, but it’s only round one, and I don’t want to get too carried away,” he said following the second Moto.

Joined by fellow O rippers Dungey and James “Bubba” Stewart, RV topped the two identical podiums in a display of Oakley’s prominence in the sport and throughout the Outdoor series.

And although the fanfare and glory came through the track – with team stars rocking the ground-breaking Airbrake MX goggle – more buzz shot through the festivities with newly launched Airbrake MX technology demonstrations at the ‘Rollin’ O Lab’ in the Sponsor Village.

From fog resistance, military-grade impact resistance, demonstrations of Airbrake’s optical superiority/revolutionary roll off system and more, motocross fans of all ages witnessed first hand just why there simply isn’t anything close to the Airbrake MX in the industry.

Between the tantalizing riding of Oakley’s team stars and Airbrake in the spotlight throughout the event’s festivities, the brand’s deep roots and heritage in the sport was in full display in California’s Capitol.
