Oakley’s Minnesota-raised Motocross Star threw down, big time, at his favorite track in the AMA Motocross series, sweeping the 450 class motos for his fourth straight victory on the season. The triumph pushed his lead in the Championship standings to a massive 72 points ahead of Mike Alessi.

“Having James (“Bubba” Stewart) back this week was good to add another challenge, and it’s good for the sport,” said Ryan, rocking his Signature Series Oakley MX Goggles. “We made some more changes to the bike coming into (today) and I think we’ve made even more progress. My starts were good and I knew getting out front would make life easier, having a whole track to work with. It’s (too) early to think points, but you’ve got to be smart. With James back, you knew he’d be there, so I didn’t want to downplay him. I just wanted to get a good start and see how things played out.”

With the fastest qualifying times in scorching morning temperatures, his momentum raged into Moto 1 – grabbing the Holeshot and fully dominating the field for the entirety of the race. He finished a full 45 seconds in front of the runner up finisher.

Moto 2 posed quite a bit more of a challenge as Ryan sat in third going into the first turn. But the second lap saw Oakley’s ripper power past Christian Craig – followed by a charge past Mike Alessi one lap later. It was smooth sailing from there, as the Factory KTM rider cruised his way to victory three seconds in front.

“It feels good to get another win here at Red Bud. The conditions are tough and I know it’s only going to be hotter and rougher for the second moto. I want to give a shout out to all the fans that are here today. They are amazing lining the fence and cheering us on in this heat.”
