Global Sports Power Will Supply Race Teams With Eyewear For 15th Year

Huntersville, NC (March xx, 2012) – Joe Gibbs Racing today announced that Oakley, one of the leading sports brands in the world, has renewed its partnership as the official eyewear supplier for the organization.

Oakley, who has been a partner with Joe Gibbs Racing for 15 years, will continue to supply the pit crews for all of its NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams, as well as its Motocross operations and team executives, including team owner Joe Gibbs.

“Oakley has been a great partner of Joe Gibbs Racing and JGRMX for a long time now and we appreciate their support of our crews,” said Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. “Everyone knows in NASCAR and Motocross you need great equipment to succeed and with long hot days in the sun and heat at the track, the right eyewear is essential for all our team members at the track. Oakley has always delivered an exceptional product. They also have shown the ability to customize to our needs, including incorporating my prescription into my glasses.”

Powered by more than 600 technology patents and painstaking research and development, Oakley’s eyewear, apparel, footwear and accessories are trusted by some the leading athletes on the planet. With its unrivaled optical clarity, optical accuracy and unmatched impact protection delivered through Oakley’s High Definition Optics® and patented Plutonite® material lens material, the team and crews at Joe Gibbs Racing know full well that it’s more than just attractive eyewear on their faces while in action.

Long trusted by members of the Armed Services of the United States and other nations for superior design, development and protection, Oakley’s eyewear and gear technologies have been tried and proven in some of the most harsh, hostile conditions on Earth. All of which make the dangers of the speedway and track seem minimal.

“We are honored to continue our support of our long-time friends at Joe Gibbs Racing,” said Todd Hayes, director of motor sports at Oakley. “It’s more than 35 years of research, development and extreme care for our athletes and teams that allow us to deliver highly customized solutions for the JGR team. We’re stoked that Oakley will continue to have a hand in the team performing at the top of their game with peace of mind – knowing that they’re looking through the most advanced lens material anywhere – and looking good while they’re at it. Not to mention, the supreme protection of our products that they can always rely on. World-class performance is what drives us both at JGR and Oakley, and I look forward to yet another successful season together.”
