• Mental Speed: Motocross World GP Star Jeff Herlings Laps the Field at Lierop to Utterly Own the MX 2 Class

  Jeffrey Herlings is merely 17 years old…and already making history. Oakley’s Dutch Motocross phenom lapped most of the field before a massive collection of crazed home fans at Lierop Grand Prix this past weekend. The youngster, charging into the event with a commanding MX 2 class championship standings lead over Tommy Searle, smoked KTM teammate Jeremy Van Horebeek in Moto 1 to claim victory at an insane 2:07 minutes ahead. In general, he flat out embarrassed riders all day long. And he fully intended to. “I came out today with a pole position and made two hole shots,” Jeff said, rocking his Oakley MX goggles and Dispatch 2 eyewear. “The first moto was unbelievable. I just cruised my way to the finish, and lapped up until second, only my teammate Jeremy stayed in the same lap so it was an awesome race. And in the second moto, I took the hole shot again and lapped up to fourth and I got the full 50 points. I’ve extended my points lead on Tommy so I really happy with that one.”

• The Champion: Ryan Dungey Claims AMA Pro Motocross Title Early With Unadilla Domination

  It was full on redemption for Ryan Dungey. After surrendering his AMA Pro Motocross title last season, Oakley’s star emphatically reclaimed glory and his second Championship following the ripper’s eighth straight dominating victory at Unadilla. The KTM Factory rider, tallying the brand’s first ever 450 title, swept the Motos to take his 22nd overall victory in the class. “It was a pretty amazing day,” Ryan said, rocking his Oakley Signature Series MX Goggles. “To be honest, I knew we could wrap up today, but my focus was putting on a solid performance and moving forward. Mike (Alessi) has been riding well, but unfortunately there was a DNF. In the second moto, I just wanted to put in a solid ride and wrap up this championship.”

• RedBud: Motocross Star Ryan Dungey Owns Favorite Track For Fourth Straight Victory

  Ryan Dungey loves RedBud MX. Oakley’s Minnesota-raised Motocross Star threw down, big time, at his favorite track in the AMA Motocross series, sweeping the 450 class motos for his fourth straight victory on the season. The triumph pushed his lead in the Championship standings to a massive 72 points ahead of Mike Alessi. “Having James (“Bubba” Stewart) back this week was good to add another challenge, and it’s good for the sport,” said Ryan, rocking his Signature Series Oakley MX Goggles. “We made some more changes to the bike coming into (today) and I think we’ve made even more progress. My starts were good and I knew getting out front would make life easier, having a whole track to work with. It’s (too) early to think points, but you’ve got to be smart. With James back, you knew he’d be there, so I didn’t want to downplay him. I just wanted to get a good start and see how things played out.”
