Ryan Villopoto is the third person in history to win his first premier class race and the only other person besides Carmichael to claim three-straight 250 motocross titles and then win his 450-class debut. His first championship came outdoors in 2006 following a third place in the Western SX Lites series.     Ryan Villopoto locks up his fourth consecutive 450SX Class Championship with a win in New Jersey to become just the second rider in the sport’s 40-year history, along side Jeremy McGrath, to win four consecutive championships. Heading into the inaugural race at MetLife Stadium, Villopoto only needed to finish 18th or better in the main event to clinch the championship, but that did not stop him from going wire-to-wire to not only claim the title, but also his sixth victory of the season and 40th career SX450 class win. After collecting the holeshot at the start of the main event, Villopoto held off Josh Hill, who ran second for the first four laps of the race until Eli Tomac eventually passed Hill. The two Team Oakley riders went head-to-head for the remaining laps, but in the end Tomac could not overtake the champion.
