Speed Demon: Young Motocross Star Jeffrey Herlings Opens World Championship Season In Dominating Form
Jeffrey Herlings picked up right where he left off…in epic form. The Dutch teen and defending MX2 Class World Champion, who dazzled International motocross fans last season by lapping every single rider at the series’ Lierop stop, got right back at it with an emphatic MX2 win in Quatar to open up his 2013 campaign. The freakishly fast rider, considered the best on the planet in the sand, grabbed victory by a stunning 25 seconds.
Jeffrey Herlings is fast. Almost too fast. Oakley’s Dutch Young Gun, continuing his utter dominance of the MX2 class all year long, was finally crowned with the World Title by comfortably owning both motos at the GP of Europe at Faenza (Italy). The 17-year-old ripper, first taking the win in the qualifiers with ease, didn’t let up in any way all day long – charging through both Holeshots with reckless abandon to an emphatic overall victory. The result was his ninth GP triumph on the season…with just as much style as ever. “I had many ups and downs during the whole season, but I managed to find the way to get through everything and win the title,” Jeff said, rocking his Oakley Crowbar MX Goggles. "I am really happy to have had my team behind me because they have been really supportive all the time.”
