    If you’re gonna’ dominate, you might as well do it in style…with a cause. Raging into Anaheim for the fifth Supercross stop of the season, Oakley MX superstar James “Bubba” Stewart, fresh on the heels of a big victory in Oakland, snagged his third triumph in a stylin’ pink suit reflecting the sport’s annual breast cancer awareness round. Rumors of a “no go” swirled around the arena earlier in the day, as Bubba opted to skip the final practice of the afternoon. But any doubt about Bubba’s readiness for the night was detonated instantaneously with his domination of his Supercross class heat.

    Supercross Stop 3 was two words: Absolutely epic. The first visit the sport has ever made to historic Dodger Stadium saw Oakley Stars Ryan Villopoto, James “Bubba” Stewart and Ryan Dungey engage in one of the most exciting battles in the sport’s history, eventually sweeping the podium and setting the pace for what’s sure to be an insane season. Dungey and Villopoto established their top form in the qualifiers, grabbing their respective heat races, while Bubba overshot the first turn after grabbing the holeshot in Heat 2. But he masterfully charged from the middle of the pack to a fourth place finish to set the tone for what would be an amazing Main Event.

    It was a perfect sweep. O charger Ryan Villopoto smashed his way to a resounding victory at Supercross-Anaheim 1, dazzling a supercharged sold-out crowd of more than 45,000 amped up motocross fans. The Oakley Team Star, rebounding from a season-ending injury last season, topped the Oakley-laced podium with Ryan Dungey (2nd) and James “Bubba” Stewart (3rd) rounding out the winners’ circle. It was a super perfect start to the Supercross season for the Big O…in a year that’s set to be one of the most intensely contested and exciting battles in the sport’s history.
