Budds Creek: Ryan Dungey Tallies Third Straight AMA Pro Motocross Victory in Maryland
The 2010 AMA Motocross Champion is shooting KTM into unprecedented territory.
Oakley MX Star Ryan Dungey kicked back into top form and displayed his mastery of the Outdoors – sweeping the 450 Class Motos at Budds Creek for his third straight victory on the season. The resounding win elevates him further in the season standings, extending his lead to 54 points over Mike Alessi.
The triumph also racks up his 17th overall – rendering Ryan No. 6 all-time in overall motocross victories.
“It was good, starting from practice and into the Motos,” Ryan said, rocking his Signature Series Oakley MX Goggles. “I got good starts, which helped get me out front. Mike and Broc both rode well, so I had to do some work in that second moto. We have a couple weeks off now, so I’ll use it to my advantage and see if we can (still) get a little bit better.”
Moto 1 saw Justin Brayton grab the holeshot. But as the field shot by the first downhill section, RD powered past and smoked the field by a massive 43 seconds to the win.
The second Moto saw more of a battle – with Ryan and Alessi battling head-to-head. But the struggle wouldn’t last long – as RD smashed his way to a 33 second lead in front of second place for the second triumph in Maryland – and domination of the day overall.
It’s safe to say that the former champ isn’t resting on his laurels – eager to continue improving with the Factory KTM team for the chance to reclaim his title.
