One thing’s for sure: James “Bubba” Stewart has always known how to get down and dirty on the track. Oakley’s Motocross Superstar, in his quest to reclaim the Supercross Crown, lived up to his reputation this past weekend in Daytona, romping through super muddy conditions to dominate practice and the 450 Main Event. The win racks up nine crucial points for James in the Championship standings, where fellow Oakley star Ryan Villopoto is currently leading.

Apparently, Oakley’s Motocross Team loves the A.T.L. In a monster sweep of the Supercross podium (and the Top Four overall finishes), the team, lead by resurging O star, Ryan Dungey, displayed its utter dominance in the Georgia Dome this past weekend. Rounding off the awards stage, Oakley’s defending Supercross Champ, Ryan Villopoto (RV), and James “Bubba” Stewart gripped onto their positions amongst the riders in the top of the Championship standings – capping off yet another super intense battle for 450 supremacy in the land of peaches.

James “Bubba” Stewart has had a tumultuous past couple years. Oakley’s Motocross Superstar and former Supercross/AMA Motocross Champion, fighting through injuries in 2010 and an erratic 2011, shot back at doubters yet again – claiming Supercross Oakland for his first triumph with his new team, Joe Gibbs Racing. Joining fellow Oakley Team stars Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Dungey, who both have tallied a win thus far early in the season, Bubba sent a clear message that he’s in it to win it this season. Rival Chad Reed held the advantage early on in the race. Until Lap 9, that is. In signature fashion, he powered past Reed and charged his way to victory with no one in sight.
