2011 was nothing short of absolutely epic in Supercross. In one of the closest, most hotly contested, sheer battles in the sport’s illustrious history, the field’s most prominent riders throttled into stadium after stadium, head-to-head in the standings…fighting for every advantage until the explosive finale in Las Vegas. And of course, Oakley emerged as the Champion yet again – continuing its deep roots and heritage in motocross. Taking out 2010 rookie Champion and fellow Oakley Star Ryan Dungey (RD), Ryan Villopoto (RV) rocketed to the Title, closing out a three-way dogfight going into Vegas with RD and Chad Reed. And with that, a season filled with drama, intrigue and insane story lines came to a close. 2012 will be no less tantalizing.

The one-hour, adrenaline-packed showcase will serve as a massive buildup for the much-anticipated Anaheim 1 season opener on Jan. 7 at Anaheim Stadium – profiling the sport’s most prominent stars and favorites. And of course, Oakley’s superstars will be front and center – and in the spotlight. O speed demons Ryan Villopoto (defending Supercross Champion), Ryan Dungey, James “Bubba” Stewart, Josh Grant and Davi Millsaps are all names in the Championship mix, of course. And their presence will be felt – big time – in the preview show.
Big News: Oakley Motocross Superstar James Stewart Signs With Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team - Option to Race NASCAR
Rumors have been circulating for months. With Oakley Motocross Superstar James “Bubba” Stewart not racing Outdoors (AMA Pro Motocross Series) this year, following a turbulent Supercross season, speculation on his future with a new team swirled in the air. Well the big news is finally out. Bubba has signed a multi-year contract to race with the motocross division of Joe Gibbs Racing, JGRMX. Famous for its success in NASCAR, Joe Gibbs’ team extended its relationship with Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. – racing exclusively Yamaha motorcycles through 2014. James will also have the option to dip into car racing with the team. He’ll debut on two wheels with Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX at the opening round of the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship (Jan. 7, 2012 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim).
